The tale of The 3 Tools is one of an edgy teenager going against a website and trying to create his own south park, to hilariously shitty results.
During season 1 of the 3 tools, i wanted to make the series the "family guy" of the original host site. I was, at the time, watching alot of family guy, which inspired me for the worse when it came to this series. Did this mean that The 3 Tools would be a series of dark humor gags, while somewhat racy still meant to be funny at the end of the day? no.
I mainly made many of the strips during season 1 to just be edgy and nothing else. To me now, if a jokes only purpose is to be offensive and to make people upset, it's not a good joke. I've come to hate that form of "comedy" so much, partly because of how badly i tried to make similiar jokes.
What made it worse, was that the site was increadibly strict about edgy jokes, with the moderators being very trigger happy to ban people who were being edgelords. So you mix me, an unfunny edgelord at the time, with a site where being edgy gives you a one-way ticket to being banned, it obviously didnt go well. Within two months of The 3 Tools being created, i was given a week long ban, due to a comic that featured a slur. At the time, i found it funny, that a specific slur starting with the letter "f" could be used to mean many things, so i made a comic about it. barely 24 hours later, i was rightfully banned. The thing that made this somewhat funny, was i got banned on my birthday the next day, which after the ban ended i stated was "a bad birthday gift."
two months after being banned, i got another ban. This time a permanent ban, which i somehow got down to a 30-day ban. The reason? a comic where i joked about a penis being used to breastfeed. Yeah. Somehow, it took a while for my account to get bitch slapped, because the comic strip was up for a couple of weeks prior to the ban. After the ban ended, i made sure to stear the 3 tools away from edgy jokes, which i consider the beginning of a competent version of the 3 tools.
Seasons 2 and 3 are alot more fun to look back on, mainly because of the lac of edgy for the sake of edgy jokes, which i believe made the comics a whole lot better.
